Forgive and Let Go

10th October is World Mental Health Day.

It is an international day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma.

So on this day let us start loving ourselves. Let us forgive and let go.

Bhagvad Gita says"If you want to see the brave , look at those who can forgive. If you want to see the heroic, look at those who  can  love in return for hatred. "

Broken trust, unfairly treated, humiliated, abused, deceived or hurt hearts - We’ve all been hurt by another person at some time or another.

And while this pain is normal, sometimes that pain lingers for too long. We relive the pain over and over, and have a hard time letting go. This causes problems by not only making us  unhappy, but can strain or ruin relationships, distract us from work and family and other important things, make us reluctant to open up to new things and people. We find ourselves trapped in a cycle of anger and hurt, and miss out on the beauty of life as it happens.

I remember a quote by Oscar Wilde "Every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future."

We all make mistakes. Repentance and penance have been upheld in all religions. So let us “Let Go “ and accept the virtue of forgiveness. Let us practice compassion, humility and practice mindfulness.

One will definitely begin to heal if one can let go of the hurt deliberately stuffed inside . Once you start letting go and forget to gnaw your wounds, they'll start healing. Further it'll only help you enrich your life's experiences.

Life is uncertain. Don't carry on the extra burden of grudges. Take the lesson and move along. Life is wonderful! God has sent each one of us for a purpose. Don't cling on to the bygone. Let the hurt go. Forgive and start giving more love to those whom who needs you.

Forgiveness does not mean you erase the past, or forget what has happened. It doesn’t even mean the other person will change his behavior ,or you have to accept that person into your life again. All it means is that you are letting go of the anger and pain, and moving on to a better place.

We need to learn to let go. We need to be able to forgive, so we can move on and be happy. Forgiveness can change ones life.

While it certainly isn't easy, it is absolutely necessary for long-term mental and emotional health.
